Dubai has a desert climate with extremely hot summers, with temperatures regularly exceeding 40°C (104°F) from June through September, making outdoor activity genuinely difficult during midday. Winter (November-March) brings far more comfortable temperatures and is by far the most popular and crowded season for visitors. Spring and autumn offer a reasonable middle ground.
Dubai's Metro is modern, efficient, and air-conditioned throughout, a genuine relief given the climate, and covers many major attractions including the Burj Khalifa area and Dubai Mall. Taxis and ride-hailing apps are widely available and reasonably priced, useful for destinations not directly served by the Metro, such as some beach resorts.
Downtown Dubai, near the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, puts you in the heart of the modern skyline with excellent Metro access. Dubai Marina offers a more relaxed, waterfront atmosphere with its own dining and nightlife scene. Old Dubai, around the Gold and Spice Souks, provides a more traditional, lower-cost alternative connected by abra (traditional boat) across Dubai Creek.
